She graduated in first place from Hacettepe University in 1989. She won the İhsan Dogramacı Superior Merit Award and Science Incentive Award. She earned her pilot’s license from Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport. She studied about counseling on assisted reproductive techniques at Liverpool Women’s Hospital Reproductive Medicine Unit in United Kingdom on the British Council Research Scholarship. She earned a certificate in management and leadership in nursing. She is an active member of Thematic Network leadership work group. She studied as a research scholar at Kent State University College of Nursing in 2006 for 3 months. In 2007, she worked on a project named “Development of Leadership Skills in Nursing Doctoral Students” at University of Michigan Faculty of Nursing on an international research scholarship which was supported by International Network for Doctoral Education in Nursing (INDEN) and Sigma Theta Tau and provided to only three people around the world every year. She worked as a research assistant at Hacettepe University School of Nursing in the Maternity and Women's Health Nursing Division from 1990 to 1997. She was promoted to assistant professor in 1998, associate professor in 2006 and professor in 2012. She worked as a Co-Head of Nursing Department, Erasmus Department Coordinator, Head of Strategic Planning Group and board member of Hacettepe University Women’s Research and Implementation Center (HUWRICH) between 2009 and 2011. Her interest subjects are sexuality and reproductive health and management and leadership. She is member of national and international nurse’s organizations such as INDEN and Sigma Theta Tau. She has been working as a Director of Nursing Services at Hacettepe University Hospitals between 2012-2016 and Founding Dean of Faculty of Nursing. She has published more than 70 papers, 15 grant projects, eight books as an editor and author, and more than 100 presentation in the national and international congress. She is also invited speaker more than 60 congress and symposium. She has working as a Dean Faculty of Health Science and Director of Nursing of MLPCare in Istinye University.

Nursing and Healthcare

Donna L. Petri completed her nursing education at Bethel College, Kansas, USA and Deakin University, Geelong, Australia. She was a faculty member in the School of Nursing at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) for 27 years with a focus on communication, cultural safety, cultural sensitivity, and international practicums. She developed and led international practicums in four different countries over 10 years. She has numerous local, national and international presentations, including keynote addresses related to the pedagogy of international practicums. She is currently serving in the capacity of Associate Vice President Academic at TRU.

Nursing and Healthcare

Terri Thompson earned her DNP from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. Her dissertation was titled: The effective methods for providing preconception health education. Terri has specialized as a labor and delivery nurse for 21 years at a high-risk tertiary hospital. She has taught in Maternal-Childbearing Nursing Theory and Practicum in higher education for 6 years, and had taught Maternal-Childbearing Clinical Practicum for Loma Linda University, for 15 years. Terri is the BSN Program Director and Assistant Professor at California Baptist University (CBU), Riverside, CA, U.S.A. Terri is the Faculty Advisor for the Preconception Peer Education club on campus at CBU, is an advisor for the Office of Minority Health in Maryland, and Counselor for the Chi Mu chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI). Terri has presented extensively on Preconception Health Education across southern California and in Oregon over the past six years.

Nursing

Werner Schuetze has finished law school at the University of Freiburg in Germany before he studied medicine and became a Dr. med in 1981. He is children and youth psychiatrist as well as for adults, studied family therapy and was educated in psychodynamic therapy as well as treatment of severe psychic traumas. As a head of a psychiatric department in Nauen/ Brandenburg/ Germany he implemented the finnish Open Dialogue Approach in his hospital. After retirement, he is working as a trainer and supervisor in the education of Open Dialogue and connected projects in Germany, Poland, Italy, and the US

Nurse, Healthcare, Women Health

Dr. Shargall completed his medical school and bachelor in medical sciences and immunology at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He then completed cardiothoracic residency at the Haddasah University Hospital of Hebrew University Jerusalem, followed by cardiac and thoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Toronto. Since 2004 he practiced thoracic surgery at the University of Toronto, St. Joseph’s Health Centre and St. Michael’s Hospital (both in Toronto). Between 2007 and 2010 he was the director of medical education at St. Joseph’s Health Centre and the associate director of undergraduate education at the department of surgery, University of Toronto. Since October 2010 he is the division head of Thoracic Surgery at McMaster University and St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton, Ontario Canada. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Surgery at McMaster University and an adjunct Associate Professor of surgery at the University of Toronto. He is the local LHIN 4 (Ontario) thoracic oncology lead and serves at multiple expert panels for Cancer Care Ontario. His main research focus is on post-discharge care for thoracic surgery patients and he has received numerous grants, including the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), Heart and Stroke Foundation and Ontario Thoracic Society. He is currently chairing the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons’ working group on VTE in Thoracic Surgery.
